Today was a “big day” for the kids on the trip. They spent the first half of the day hiking the canyons in the area and practicing “canyoneering”. What does this mean? They did some skill stuff including rock climbing, narrow canyons, water filled canyons AND repelling down cliffs. They all say it is the highlight of the trip and loved every second of it. (Lisa and I did not go).

After this trip, we all headed to the Canyonlands National Park. We climbed 2000 feet onto a mesa that overlooked most of Utah (or so it seemed). Below us was vast canyons as far as the eye could see, until they ended in distant mountains. Somewhere below us was the Colorado river. There were shear drop offs on every side of us. Incredible views.
