We made it to Alamosa, Colorado. A very long drive across the plains of Kansas and eastern Colorado, up over some mountains and into a big valley.

Our drive was just over 12 hours, but we passed the time with movies and some fun games. Allison claims we were ganging up on her. Poor thing…

We stopped at the Oz Museum where it was all about the Wizard of Oz (hey, we were in Kansas).  We also stopped by to see the home of THE Wildcats – Kansas State University.

I really liked Kansas. I last saw the Sunflower state in 1976. I was impressed. It was clean, orderly and very pretty.  Yes, it is very, very flat. But the colors changed with different hues of greens, yellows, browns and what was something like a sandy purple. The grasses, soils and crops were kinda cool. Even though we looked at it for hours.

I said I found it in the title of this post. What I found is the United States of America. It is Kansas. Who knew?  Hard to explain and not for the Internet,  but we can discuss at a later time.

Tomorrow we play in the sand dunes and then head to Durango. Later.
