Well, it was bound to happen. We finally hit a major problem with out trip.

Are we hurt? No, we are fine?
Run out of money? No (not yet).
Sick? Nope, doing well (if tired)
Got lost? No – surprisingly easy to get around
Missed the train? Ha – we are overly early for that
So, what is the problem you ask? It is this:

The Trevi Fountain in Rome is closed – CLOSED!

How do you close a fountain? You drain the water, put a plexiglass barrier around the entire thing and then surround the statues with scaffolding. It is closed. Can’t even really tell what it is.

I’m going to do it to you again. It is after 11 here, we just got back from dinner and we are getting up early tomorrow. I hope for a longer review with pictures tomorrow – I nearly promise.

We did a quick circuit and have done a ‘drive-by’ on most major sites. We are oriented and ready to go. Rome is fascinating. Pictures just aren’t going to work for this trip. Everything is so big. Full review tomorrow. We are safe, sound and having fun. Even if we are disappointed in the fountain being closed.

Talk to you tomorrow.
